2016-08-25: Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Haidian Park will work with the Ontario Center of Excellence (OCE) in Canada to promote the Sino Canadian joint venture ecological construction
On the morning of August 16, 2016 (Tuesday), Director Li Changping and Director Huang Ying of Haidian Park Management Committee of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park met with Thomas Anthony Corr, CEO of Canadian Ontario Center of Excellence at the Software Park International Conference Center, accompanied by Liu Zhishuo, founding partners of Dahe Venture Capital, Wang Tong, etc. The two sides exchanged information on China Canada investment environment, differences in start-ups, and the way the government guides fund operations, and said they would jointly promote the establishment of China Canada direct investment funds. Director Li Changping invited Mr. Corr to participate in the Mass Entrepreneurship Week in Beijing in October on behalf of OCE, and Mr. Corr invited relevant personnel from the Management Committee to participate in the 2017 Discovery Entrepreneurship Conference hosted by OCE.
OCE is one of the most important supporting institutions for early scientific and technological innovation enterprises in Canada supported by the Canadian government and public funds. It holds the largest innovation achievements exchange and exhibition conference in Canada – Discovery every year. OCE and Zhongguancun Haidian Park jointly launched the China Canada Joint Venture Camp (CAMP) activity during the 2015 Mass Entrepreneurship Week, and organized the first activity in November. During this period, the founders of ten Canadian start-ups had a two-week exchange and learning in Beijing. At present, some enterprises have landed and developed in Beijing.
In addition to in-depth communication with Zhongguancun Haidian Park, Mr. Corr also visited AC accelerator, Techcode incubator and communicated with Sohu during his two-day trip in Beijing; In addition, on the morning of the 15th, I met with relevant personnel of Dahe Venture Capital with Kapowkidz, the project team of China Canada Joint Venture Camp Phase I, and exchanged views on the project development and implementation process.
